When you’re making a video about custom embroidery on brand-name clothing, start by collecting two separate interviews.
You’ll want to talk to two people representing the brand - in our case, a marketing rep and a designer. Ask the marketing rep to talk about the embroidery process and how it’s being done. What kind of equipment is being used? How many have they sold so far? Then ask about reaction.
Ask the designer why personalized clothing is a style statement. Record each answer as a separate sound bite.
Now collect your supporting shots. Get video of the embroidery machine in action. Notice how I stood close to get these close-up shots of the needle putting down thread.
You’ll also want to stand farther back to show the whole machine - and anyone running it. I got video of this man replacing thread at the top…and loading a tray with a new sweatshirt.
If there are any examples of finished clothing - like these shirts hanging on racks - make sure you film them too!
Now decide which sound bites you want to use. It’s good to end with a bite that shows why customizing is popular.
To put it together, open Videolicious. Select your supporting shots in Step 1 in the order that matches your sound bites. In Step 2, import your sound bites in the order you want them to play. Play back your sound bites and tap your supporting shots to follow them!
