When you’re making a video about college grads entering the workforce, start by collecting two separate interviews.
You’ll want to talk to an employment counselor and a student who graduates soon. We went to the career center at a nearby college and made arrangements to do our interviews there.
Ask the counselor what the job market is like for recent grads. Then ask them to share three tips on how they can improve their prospects.
Ask the student how they feel about graduating soon… and how their friends and classmates feel about the job search.
Now it’s time for your part as a reporter. You’ll want to write four sound bites - one to set up the story, two to advance the story, and one to sign off. Use the set-up sound bite to introduce your student to viewers. Use the next two to provide info about the job economy for recent grads. Use the last one to end on a hopeful or resilient note.
To put it together, open Videolicious. Select your supporting shots in Step 1 in the order that matches your soundbites. In Step 2, import your soundbites in the order you want them to play.
Play back your soundbites, and tap your supporting shots to follow them.
You can tap supporting shots over your reporter sound bites to give it a voice-over effect
